Project Case Study

A 20-Year-Old Building,
Recovered In 72 Hours.

Challenge

The original cover was at end of life — and harvest was six weeks out. After 20 Saskatchewan winters, the membrane was chalking, brittle at the seams and leaking at the peak. The owner had already patched it twice in two seasons.

Replacing the entire building meant emptying stored commodity, demolition, permitting and a season without storage. The steel frame, though, was hot-dip galvanized and structurally sound. The building didn't need to die — it needed a new skin.

Solution

A full recover, engineered around the existing frame. We inspected and documented the structure, replaced worn cables and hardware while the old cover came off, and installed a new engineered membrane with a fresh tensioning system — all with the stored contents protected in place under staged removal.

Fabric was pre-ordered to measured dimensions so the building was never open overnight: old panels came off and new panels went on in the same working window, section by section.

Result

Weather-tight in 72 hours, ready for harvest, at a fraction of new-build cost. The owner got what amounts to a new building on a proven foundation — with a fresh cover warranty and a maintenance program to make this one last even longer than the first.
